This September I participated in a styled shoot at the Henry Horton State Park in Chapel Hill, Tennessee. It was a great day working with great vendors. Photography was provided by Amanda Law Photography, florals were provided by Flourishing Flowers, draping and lighting was provided by FADDS Events, linens were provided by Kat’s Creations, hair/makeup was provided by Sheree Avelar, bridal Attire was provided by The White Room, and menswear was provided by Street Tuxedo.
We set up two different looks for this shoot. The first look was Springtime Garden and was staged at the Conference Lodge. Our color scheme was peach, yellow, and pink. We staged the ceremony on the lawn next to the Lodge. We used a beautiful arch adorned with flowers and kissing balls to line the aisle. Inside the Lodge we staged the reception. We used white linens and draping. To pop the room with color we used pink up-lighting, flowers in shades of yellow and pink in mismatched bottles, and light pink table runners.
The second look was staged in the Park’s restaurant The Governor’ Table which can be rented out for events.
The theme for the second look was rustic elegant. We used floating candles and greenery to highlight the restaurant’s rustic charm. Our ceremony space was set up in front of the large fireplace in the restaurant. The aisle and mantle was adorned with greenery, baby’s breath, and floating candles. We used wood disks with floating candles and a greenery garland to accent the bar area and reception space. We also used string lighting to highlight the large fireplace and over the table setting.
Overall, the shoot was a success. It was great to feature this hidden gem in Chapel Hill. With multiple locations for an outdoor ceremony and great options for an indoor reception; the Henry Horton State Park is a great location for couples wanting a wedding surrounded by nature.
